Our Heritage
Maria Arias,a devout, faithful Catholic, on the brink of death had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ on February 7, 1947. Since then she has been radical for the Lord. In 1964 she founded the first Christian Church Worker of Peace in New York City. She continued erecting churches in different states and in Santo Domingo, where she presently pastor another Workers of Peace church. In 1991, after the horrific loss of her oldest grandson, she founded a school for poor children in the neighborhood, in his memory. Workers of Peace, is an indeoendent Christian church.
Our Roots
The bedrock of our faith is the Holy Bible. It is the revelation of God to humanity. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct and religious opinions should be put to the test.
God
God is the Creator of the Universe.He has no beginning nor end. He is the Redeemer and Ultimate Master. A Supreme to be worshipped, love, obeyed, reverenced, He is without division of nature, essence or being. God is the Absolute Truth!
The Son Jesus
Jesus was conceived by the work and grace of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He became man and dwelt among us and identied with humanity. He is perfect in everything. He never knew sin was tempted in every way that we are tempted. He is the only mediator between God and men. Only through His death and resurrection can we come to know the Father. He lives today in the hearts of anyone who has received His sacrifice. His church will return soon and we will be with Him forever. (John 1:1-3, 14. John 14:5-6. John 5:22).
