The pastor Maria Arias had her suitcase ready to travel to California; when in November 1975, she was visited by the Evangelist Rudy Contreras. He told her the Bruno and Sanchez families needed a pastor and a place of worship. On Friday, December 21, 1975, Pastor Arias preached to both families and stayed to be their pastor. This was the birth of Christian Church Worker of Peace in Orlando; in a hall of the "Church of God" in Orange Ave. in Downtown. February 17, 1976, Pastor Arias signed the contract of a local building on South St. This is where they would worship. Two years later, January 1978, she received the calling to establish more churches in Santo Domingo. Her son-in-law and daughter, Evelio and Diana Quintero, were placed as temporary pastors.
The Lord continued to bless the church under their leadership. Within a year and a half the church was able to raise funds and build our first temple. In June 30, 1980, we moved into new temple in Old Winter Garden Rd. That building was just the initial training for the new task that God has in reserve for Pastor Evelio. By 1986, the church expanded because we needed more space. The annex was completed. In April 18, 1997 we obtained the permission of occupation for our second temple. Since then we have continued to reach out for the lost and the hurting and the Lord continues to add those He wants to save. The Lord has been so good to us. Praise God!
